Press title: BUSINESSES FIND OUT HOW TO BOOST THEIR WEB SALES ON A TIGHT BUDGET

Article date: 14/01/2010

Press article:

Businesses are being given the opportunity to learn how to dramatically improve their web sales on a shoestring budget, at an exclusive event in Bristol this month.

Firms are increasingly having to find new ways to boost their online success, but often don’t have the cash required to do so. A training event is taking place on January 28th at the Novotel in Bristol, which will show how it is possible to make changes with limited resources.

The day will be of interest to anyone who has responsibility for website sales, or who just wants to learn more about the range of free tools and easy-to-implement techniques that the well established retailers are already using.

All those attending will also receive a critique of their website as part of the day.

The one-day seminar is being led by the Catalogue Exchange, a not-for-profit trade body which supports businesses in all areas of the catalogue and online retail sector. Experts from the world of copywriting, SEO, analytics, usability and website design will be on hand to offer advice and insights.

Speakers lined up include Mel Henson of multi-channel copywriting agency Words That Sell, Dan Croxen-John from Applied Web Analytics and Renee Heath from Web Marketplace Solutions, who will give tips on SEO and site design. Alison Quill and Joshua Geake of BrightMinds, which sells children’s educational toys and learning aids, will host a session on split testing and email marketing.

Catalogue Exchange Membership Development Manager, Monica Carter-Burns, says: “We are honoured to have such a wealth of talent joining us for this exciting event. With budgets so high on people’s agendas at the moment, this event is sure to offer valuable cost-saving advice.”

A second event, for those who can't make the Bristol date, will be held at the Novotel in Leeds on March 10th. For a full list of the Catalogue Exchange's 2010 training events and seminars, visit www.catalogueexchange.co.uk.

Places on the courses are limited. Anyone wishing to book can call Sam Godfrey at the Catalogue Exchange on 0871 8555 545.
