What is this initiative? How does it work? The initiative is for Catalogue Exchange members only and allows access to lower postage prices than individual companies could get on their own. Through groupage of postal requirements the collective is far more powerful than individual companies and therefore the rates available are far more attractive. The negotiated “deal” is for members to pay the Royal Mail Wholesale Access price and then a cost for transporting the mail, which is exactly how the various Downstream Access companies run their business.
So what exactly will be the price I pay?
* Royal Mail’s price is based upon the highest possible Volume Related Discount (VRD) and therefore the lowest rate that they can offer.
How do I get to use it? What restrictions are there? • During its trial period the scheme will be limited to a very small number of clients. • The scheme is only open to Catalogue Exchange member companies. • Initially the postal scheme is only available through Sunline Direct Mail; however, once established, the intention is for the scheme to be rolled out to other mailing houses. • All mailings MUST carry the Catalogue Exchange ppi (see below) What is the Catalogue Exchange PPI? The Catalogue Exchange ppi has been specifically designed to clearly identify the mail as being part of this reduced cost scheme, it can help promote the scheme and the Catalogue Exchange as a whole to a new market. We expect the scheme to dramatically increase the number of member companies who will want to take up this hugely beneficial pricing initiative. So when is this available? The scheme was officially launched at the Catalogue Exchange meeting on April 14th in London prior to the ECMOD Awards Night.
How do I sign up?
