LAST CHANCE TO BOOK! CatEx Annual Summit Takes Place on Wednesday 9th June in London!

Posted: 01/06/2010

The Catalogue Exchange Annual Summit is just one week away now and tickets are selling up fast.

It's one of the key events in our year and we are delighted to present a packed agenda and exciting line-up of speakers for this unique day of timely, constructive discussion and debate.

Those attending this year’s summit on Wednesday 9th June can expect a day packed with valuable insights, advice, and expert comment, as well great opportunities to network with fellow members. Compelling issues will be brought under the spotlight in a day that will challenge and inspire you and your colleagues.

Our keynote speaker for the event is John Hinchcliffe, Group Marketing Director at N Brown. In the first session of the day John will discuss the challenges faced, and the solutions developed, to enable N Brown Group to continue its growth as one of the most successful businesses in the home shopping sector over the past decade. John will look at the background of the process of brand development and how N Brown has managed to develop a series of niche catalogues, for niche customers. This session will aim to help other businesses to consider ways in which they could develop a brand portfolio once their initial brand is established in the marketplace.

In the second session of the day, we will welcome three senior executives of major multi-channel retailers, in a fascinating session entitled ‘From Paper to Web and Back Again’. We are delighted that we will be joined by Nick Wheeler, Founder and Chairman of Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, Iain Burgess, Chief Executive of BVG AIrflo Ltd and Graham Winn, Director and Co-owner of Flowercard. Each will share their stories of success and discuss the strategies which have seen them through the last decade and helped them develop their businesses. This will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

For the third and final presentation of the morning, we will be looking to the future. Will Treasure, a director of Javelin Group, the UK’s largest specialist consultancy in e-commerce and multi-channel retail, will lead a session entitled ‘The Multi-Channel Shopper’.  During his presentation Will will review the current state of e-commerce, explain who the e-commerce customer is, how customers shop across channels, and why they shop in this way. Two months ago Javelin asked five thousand customers about their online and offline purchases, covering channels used, retailers shopped at, amount spent and influence of the web on the purchase decision. The results of this unique survey will form the heart of this session.

Following the success of our recent Round Table Day in April, the second part of the summit will follow a similar theme. During three timeslots across the afternoon there’ll be more than twenty round table sessions taking place, led by industry experts. Each will offer informative and constructive discussions which will allow delegates to follow the threads that interest them most and cover key issues with like minded individuals. Please visit our events page for round table hosts and session details.

The day will conclude with a networking drinks reception kindly sponsored by Abacus.

Tickets for the Annual Summit are priced at £155+vat for CatEx members and £255+vat for non-members. The delegate rate includes all refreshments, a delicious buffet lunch and drinks reception.
